The Nisonger RRTC team published a new paper called “Putting “ME” into measurement: Adapting self-report health measures for use with individuals with intellectual disability” in the journal Research in Developmental Disabilities: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ridd.2022.104298

Self-report is important to know how people feel, but most health research on intellectual disability (ID) relies on reports from caregivers.

We need better health measures that are accessible and clear to get self-reports from adults with ID.

Our team worked with a team of adults with disabilities to review and revise a health survey.

Then, we tested the survey with a group of adults with ID.

The adapted survey was a useful tool to collect self-report.
